National Association for the Fight Against AIDS
ANLAIDS-National Association for the fight against AIDS, founded in 1985, and nominated “Ente Morale” (equivalent of no-profit organisation) in 1988, since 1998 has the status of “ONLUS” (non-profit organization of welfare utility). ANLAIDS promotes studies and researches on AIDS through calls for scholarships, research PhDs and scientific awards; it organises prevention and health education campaigns with the publication and dissemination of information material and through conferences, debates and targeted interventions, both in schools and in youth meeting venues, it organizes training and refresher courses for socio - health care professionals and volunteers; finally, it supports the start up and the activities of social housing for people living with AIDS.
ANLAIDS collaborates with the National Health Service, the Istituto Superiore di Sanità , Universities and Research Institutes, with agencies and voluntary groups, through projects and targeted interventions. Since 1986, annually it organises the Conference on “AIDS and Related Syndromes " about clinical, ethical and social aspects; it implements information services, telephone counselling and psychological, legal, social and medical assistance.
The associations carries out development cooperation activities for developing countries peoples . ANLAIDS pursue the statutory goals through the contributions paid by its members, the contributions offered freely by citizens, the funds raised from subscriptions to public campaigns, such as Bonsai Aid AIDS.
